Amsterdam Happenings for July 8 - 12

I am always amused by Dutch weather, perhaps my partner might say I am annoyed, but regardless it always keeps me on my toes - as I finish this post it is both raining and sunny (I mean bright as day, blazing sun!). But really can we complain?, we have had such a nice summer thus far and perhaps if if keeps pouring down on us this week we will have another wonderful hot weekend in the sun, I will keep my fingers crossed.

I continue to get lots of requests for music, and thus I have tried to incorporate more music events into this post and also mention various places that have ongoing/regular live music nights.  But what else do you want to see?  Please let me know.  As always, near the bottom of the post I have events for children.

When I personally make my agenda for the weekend I look for really unique, non-mainstream events, nothing against the wonderful film festivals or beach parties but I seem to fit those into my schedule regardless of what the day holds.  Thus, instead I like to make my way to events like the live performance on the train from Amsterdam Central to Zandvoort aan Zee, or the live jazz concert @ Hendrik Jonkerplein on Sunday; it is these happenings that I believe keep this City full of life and give it it's gezelligheid that so many are attracted to.   But anyway, here is some stuff for you:
