Pecha Kucha Night, volume 13, Mediamatic Amsterdam

Event: Pecha Kucha Night @ Mediamatic, Wednesday April 14th, doors open at 20:20 (iit s always sold out so get there on time, not fashionably late) starts at 21.00, €7, some presentations in English others in Dutch.

A modern spin on show-in-tell, Pecha Kucha Night shows it face again on Wednesday night at Mediamatic for its 13th edition. With 12 presenters sharing their images, new projects, brilliant thoughts and inspiring topics. Including a line-up of: George Gottl/Oliver Michell (UXUS), Ronald Rietveld (Rietveld Landscape), Madje Vollaers/Pascal Zwart (Studio VollaersZwart, Gijs Gieskes, Sander ter Braak, Heleen Klopper (Woolfiller), Melle Smets, Tjerk Ridder (Trekhaak Gezocht), Teun Castelein/Sylvain Vriens, Peter Weijmarshausen (Shapeways), Paul Wolterink (Department of Development), and Tetsuro Miyazaki (WeTapWater).

don't miss another edition of Pecha Kucha Night in Amsterdam

A modern spin on show-in-tell, Pecha Kucha Night shows it face again on Wednesday night at Mediamatic for its 11th edition. With 12 presenters sharing their images, new projects, brilliant thoughts and inspiring topics. Including a line-up of: Edwin Gardner, Jaron Korvinus (StudioSpass), Bert Simons, Ergün Erkoçu (CONCEPT 0031), Karine Versluis, Ikenna Azuike/Mette te Velde (Strawberry Earth), Barry Wels (Toool), Merijn Hos, Augusta Wind/Petra van Noort (Hete Bliksem), Sander Veenhof, Janis Pönisch, Egbert Bleyenburg (Zeezeilen).

Breaks will be filled with drinks, funky tunes and visuals by Merel Das aka Blackbird Badger.

Sound Clothing, @ Mediamatic, ongoing exhibition various days, 13.00 - 17.00, make reservation 020 638 9901, 25 euros (bring your own garment and get an electronic kit).
Nadya Peek, a researcher at the MIT Media Lab, presents a series of workshops where you can explore electro-clothing: clothing that lights up in the dark, sings when it is touched and moves when it is cold. Bring your own garment to technify!

Why go? make an extremely unique outfit!

Repairing, @Platform21, Friday - Sunday, 12 -18,

Exhibition 'Repairing' is an interactive, improv repair station where you can mend the holes in your sweater, darn socks in remarkable ways including a rainbow of colors selection of duct tapes in stock.

Why go? something certainly off the beaten track.


Transition Town de Pijp: Town Thee (Tea), @ Swomp, Rustenbursterstraat 438 / 440, Sunday, 12 - 16. The ecological experiment garden Swomp holds a tea for the initiative Transition Towns. A meeting and discussion space to talk about environmental movements, ecology in the city, etc... in de Pijp.
